Fonctions actuelles
I currently work for the French Research Institute for Exploitation of the Sea (IFREMER) as a marine ecology technician where I report directly to Verena Trenkel, Head of the Unit of Fisheries Ecology and Modelling. My work involves collecting and analysing field data for the research of ecosystems of interest to fisheries. The data is used to define conditions for the sustainable exploitation of marine living resources and associated ecosystems. I also contribute to the operational coordination of NURSE (NURSErie), an oceanographic campaign that monitors the Bay of Biscay ecology under the supervision of Anik Brind'Amour, Head of Mission.
Expérience professionnelle
I began working for the French Research Institute for Exploitation of the Sea (IFREMER) in 2016 as a technician in sclerochronology. I was interested in the age determination of different fish species by observing growth increments in otoliths and my role was to research aging gadoids(1) and pelagics(2) under the supervision of Kelig Mahé, Head of the Sclerochronology Center in Boulogne-sur-mer.
1. Gadoids: such as saithe (Pollachius virens), haddock (Melanogrammus aeglefinus) and whiting (Merlangius merlangus)
2. Pelagics: such as herring (Clupea harengus), anchovy (Engraulis encrasicolus) and sprat (Sprattus sprattus))
