My current research at Ifremer focuses on the transport and deposition of terrestrial organic carbon by turbidity currents in the Congo submarine canyon.
2014-2019: PhD student and demonstrator, National Oceanography Centre Southampton
February-March 2020: Geological fieldwork, Upper Cretaceous Chile Slope Deposits, Southern Patagonia, 5 weeks
October 2017: Cruise on R/V CCGS Vector, Fjords of British Columbia (Canada), 2 weeks
June 2016: Cruise on R/V CCGS Vector, Bute Inlet and Howe Sound, Canada, 2 weeks
June 2015: Cruise on R/V Strickland and R/V Heron, Squamish Delta, Canada, 10 days
My research focuses on the transport and deposition of terrestrial particles by turbidity currents in the marine environment. My primary interests are to understand what role river-connected submarine canyons play in the trapping of organic carbon and thus CO2. I use methods that span the fields of sedimentology, organic geochemistry and field geology.
